The South Shore Spring Shootout is SSFA’s first tournament of the year on Lake Superior. The categories will consist of total salmon, total lake trout, and the biggest salmon, steelhead, lake trout, and brown trout. The total weight is computed for the angler’s five biggest salmon and/or lake trout, and the winner is determined by most weight. This one-day competition will payback all of the anglers registration fee in payouts. Payouts based on registration numbers. This event will occur on a Saturday, with a Captain’s Meeting the night before at the Marquette Elk’s Lodge. In the event of inclement weather, fishing will occur on Sunday. As with all of our events, we are always looking for volunteers to help and provide input on how to improve our events.
